Djerbahood Street Art on Djerba: Murals in Erriadh, Tunisia

Djerbahood, the open air street art village of Erriadh on Djerba: colourful murals, blue doors and whitewashed lanes.

Djerbahood street art: pink flowering tree painted on a white wall

Djerbahood is an open air street art museum in Erriadh, a quiet whitewashed village on the island of Djerba in Tunisia. In 2014 more than a hundred artists from around the world painted its walls, and today the murals are one of the most colourful sights of the island.

I walked the lanes of Erriadh in October with my camera. Between blue doors, bougainvillea and strong sun, almost every corner holds a mural, from fine calligraphy to giant figures.
